Fiji banded iguana (Endangered)

Fiji Crested Iguana - Native to the Fiji Islands. Interesting iguana that turns black and lunges at its attacker when threatened. Fijian name is vokai or saumuri. Two tribes regard it as their totem, and if its name is spoken in the presence of women, the offender is often beaten with a stick. Most Fijians are terrified of this iguana because of its behavior when threatened. Critically endangered due to loss of habitat, fires, storms, and competition from feral goats.

This a great video showing a Blue Banded Fiji Iguana Eating fruit straight from the hand of the cameraman. For a wild lizard this female Iguana shows no fear at all.
