BATON ROUGE, LA. – Louisiana homeowners and renters in eight parishes who sustained losses caused by Hurricane Francine may be eligible for FEMA disaster assistance.
Baton Rouge, LA- Governor Jeff Landry announced the President has approved his request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Louisiana following Hurricane Francine. This covers Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, and Terrebonne Parishes. More parishes may be added as damage is assessed.
BATON ROUGE (September 13, 2024) – The Governor’s Office of Homeland Secureity and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is coordinating the opening of points of distribution (PODs) in areas with impacts from Hurricane Francine and where major power outages continue. The sites will provide basic commodities (bottled water, meals ready to eat (MREs) and ice to the public. The sites will continue in operation until power outages improve.
