Overview

This report covers the work of WHO in the Western Pacific Region from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024. It is the first report of the new Regional Director Dr Saia Ma’u Piukala, who was elected in 2023 and assumed the leadership of the Region in February 2024. In addition to the vision of the Regional Director, this report highlights WHO collaboration with Member States to improve health outcomes for the Region’s 1.9 billion people across 37 countries and areas. In the Region and globally, WHO works to ensure that health is an essential partner in sustainable development and that the vision of health and well-being for all becomes a reality.
