Spencer James is a rising high school football player and A student at South Crenshaw High, but when coach Billy Baker recruits him to join his team in Beverly Hills, Spencer's mother, Grace, and his best friend, Coop, convince him it's an opportunity he has to seize. Forced to move in with Billy and his family to protect his transfer permit to Beverly, Billy's son Jordan, who is also the starting quarterback, is less than thrilled to be sharing his father's attention -- or the team spotlight. While Spencer struggles to find his footing, he makes an unlikely friend in Jordan's sister, who is struggling with her own demons.

Garrett D I like the football part of it and Spencer’s story. I actually like most of the characters. Coop’s story line kind of ruins it for me. I actually had to turn it off at a point because it wasn’t about Spencer anymore. I just don’t love when a show gets off track like that personally Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review SkyRo P This television series has had its fair share of highs and lows, with moments that feel like pure gold and others that come across as underwhelming. Season one took me on a roller coaster ride, piquing my interest in the show with its character development and intricate storylines. While Spencer's character initially threw me off with his over-the-top behavior, season two offered a different perspective and allowed for growth and redemption. Characters like Olivia, Jordan, and L added depth to the series, but Coop remained a weak link for me. As the series progressed into season three, I found myself falling behind and losing interest. Despite eventually catching up, I felt this season was the weakest link, lacking the engagement I had experienced before. However, season four marked a turning point, reigniting my excitement and setting the stage for a thrilling narrative shift. Season five soared to new heights, becoming the pinnacle of the series. The unexpected turn of events surrounding Billy left me eagerly anticipating the next chapter and the unfolding adventure. However, as the series heads towards its final season, I find myself less captivated. While I continue to follow the storyline, it lacks the gripping allure of earlier seasons, especially since Billy's character is no longer present. In hindsight, the final season may have struggled to maintain the series' initial charm, especially in the absence of Billy. Despite this, I remain committed to seeing the story through to its conclusion, even if it fails to capture my attention as effectively as earlier seasons. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/24 Full Review Trizz V very entertaining and hard to stop watching! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member After an impressive first season, the show continues its mammoth momentum with exceptional results. From the solid groundwork laid in S1, S2 dives full blitz into a hurricane of immense struggles for the main cast. Family dynamics, Racism, fatherhood, addiction, gang violence, classism, mental illness and more are on full display while still maintaining a razor focus on Crenshaw. The show impresses with its ability to juggle each issue, evoke emotion, show character development, and press forward. But sometimes backward, as these characters are still human. This ability enables All American S2 to fire on all cylinders. Even when a climax is anticipated or even expected, the foreboding buildup of pressure, coupled with the realness of the show, often delivers a heartfelt punch. Ezra is phenomenal in his role. Excellent season! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 2 really hits with the character development, and the dangers of the gangs in the hood. It really becomes realistic and has some really emotional scenes in it. Characters seem to be at their best with the acting. It really is an emotional roller coaster. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 1 made this show interesting. Season 2 made me think this show is the greatest thing ever made.
