LSD use claimed in fatal crash in Tacoma![]() By Associated Press
TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A young man has been accused of taking LSD before a car wreck in which his girlfriend died in Tacoma.
Twenty-year-old Tristan Ryng pleaded innocent Monday to vehicular homicide in the death of 18-year-old India Escobar. He remained in jail with bail set at $50,000. Friends say they were aspiring artists who were in love. One friend, D.J. DeMarce, says Ryng had talked about proposing marriage. Escobar died of a ruptured aorta after a car driven by Ryng slammed into a tree in north Tacoma. According to police, Ryng was tripping on LSD and was booked into jail early Sunday when the hallucinogenic drug wore off. A witness told police the crash occurred after Escobar and Ryng took drugs Saturday in an apartment, began acting strangely and were asked to leave. |
