Charles Grassley, the GAO report that we are releasing here today. . . Our interest in this issue was piqued by the distressing story of Kristin Turner, a young lab technician at Maryland General Hospital who contracted HIV and Hepatitis C in 2003 when the machine she was using malfunctioned, splattering her with infected blood. Cummings Urges MTA to Make Bus Service More Reliable Comments on Study Finding that Buses Do Not Run on Schedule
". . . MTA bus service is essential to the residents of Baltimore, including the 35 percent of households that do not have access to a private vehicle and the nearly 20 percent of workers in the City who rely on public transit to get to their jobs. When a bus does not travel as scheduled, it severely inconveniences riders and may lead some to abandon public transit."
