Madam is excellent. For a show that really surprises me in how far it goes with its many taboo subjects and the fact all episodes have been available since launch, that number is still mighty impressive. Granted it does have those MAFS numbers to pull from so it’s got a pool of close to 1.8 million ppl who could stick around. The show itself reminds me more of a series you would find on streaming, not a linear broadcast tv show. But yeah I think it’s very very good.
If Idol is recorded close to broadcast time it’s good to see Kyle is taking time out due to his medical condition. Don’t watch Idol but all the best Kyle.
Top 30 was filmed in October, Top 21 from Friday so that’s much closer. That’s not to say Kyle’s illness was or wasn’t related, so I wish him well.
Woah, quite a lift for Idol from last week. I’m not sure if it’s because Kyle wasn’t there but he can be polarising to viewers. Maybe Ricki-Lee is more likeable or maybe more are curious to check out the show as we head into the top 21 and then top 12.
I wasn’t aware of Kyle’s absence until the show itself (I guess I missed that in the promo’s?) – last week was auditions, this weeks is top 30 so more interesting viewing IMO and I would guess that’s the reason for the better ratings. From memory, Idol does get better ratings as the show progresses (the opposite for the Voice where the blind auditions usually rate better than the bits which follow in subsequent weeks).
