The transient was discovered on 19th December 2019 at 12:03:49 (MJD 58836.50) by ZTF as ZTF19adaiyrd with a discovery magnitude of r = 18.75. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.067.

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 2MASXJ11075893%2B0022597; a J=14.42 mag galaxy found in the NED/SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 4.99 arcsec S, 0.05 arcsec W (6.2 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.067 implies a m - M = 37.39.
