The transient was discovered on 20th October 2019 at 12:29:09 (MJD 58776.52) by ZTF as ZTF19acekkts with a discovery magnitude of r = 18.28. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.048.

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with 2MASXJ09484253-0844022; a J=13.82 mag galaxy found in the NED/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 1.53 arcsec S, 3.60 arcsec W (3.4 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.048 implies a m - M = 36.63.
