The transient was discovered on 9th May 2019 at 04:29:28 (MJD 58612.19) by ZTF as ZTF19aauguzk with a discovery magnitude of r = 18.93. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.054.

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with SDSS J101902.4+382228.9; a J=12.62 mag galaxy found in the SDSS/2MASS/PS1 catalogues. It's located 2.66 arcsec S, 4.01 arcsec W (5.0 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.054 implies a m - M = 36.89.
