Camp Crystal Lake is a Boy Scout camp, Camp NoBeBoSco here in Jersey. 5 years before the
movie our church rented the same cabins for a teen weekend Bible study.
So I was surprised when I saw the movie and there our cabin was.
Today the Scouts will charge you $89 to $159 a ticket to tour it, they have a gift shop, tickets
sell out fast.
Personally I was bored by the 1st movie, never saw the others, everything was telegraphed
by the lazy writers/director before it happened, but since the franchise has minted untold
millions what do I know. As mindless bubblegum fare it works, maybe that's enough.

I'm curious, are you not a fan of the "slasher horror" genre movies in general or just not Friday the 13th? I personally enjoy the old school slasher movies from that era. I would say Friday the 13th isn't my favourite, I enjoy them more once Jason starts doing the killing. My personal favourite is Halloween. Good story with some great acting by Donald Pleasence (Dr. Loomis ) and directed by gifted director/filmaker John Carpenter. Although the first 2 Halloween movies showed restraint, that franchise went over the top on and off screen and is now a franchise.
But occasionally I still enjoy watching an old school slasher movie now and then. Turn off my brain and escape into the absurdity of it like I did when I was younger. Nothing wrong with that when you look at the world we live in these days.

ain't exactly Hitchcock.
But I kid you not, I could hardly sit thru "Friday", annoying my pals as I predicted what
would happen next, and it did, which annoyed them even more, so I shut up so they could
at least enjoy it.

was a unique talent, Peter Falk gushed how much he enjoyed his work when he guested on Columbo in "Any Old Port in a Storm", which many consider in the top 3 best Columbos.

10/10, one of my favorite horror franchises
6/13. Never watched the Friday the 13th movies. More a classic sci-fi person.
