Abstract: A baseball or softball glove is disclosed that includes a glove shell, a glove liner substantially inside and connected to the glove shell to form a plurality of finger stalls, a thumb stabilizer connected to at least the glove liner and the glove shell and ergonomically shaped to engage the wearer's thumb, and a little finger stabilizer connected to at least the glove liner and the glove shell and ergonomically shaped to engage the wearer's little finger. In another embodiment, the little finger stabilizer is ergonomically shaped to engage the wearer's ring finger and little finger, the “two in the little finger” stabilizer design.

Abstract: A ball glove may include a front glove portion, a back glove portion and a webbing. A palm side of the webbing comprises a spin reduction texture. The spin reduction texture includes a first pattern of raised projections and/or recesses.

Abstract: A lightweight, breathable glove for baseball or softball is provided that generally includes a strap that extends over at least a portion of an opening in which a wearer may place his or her hand. The strap is at least partially made of an elastic material so that the strap can extend and contract. The glove may thus have a reduced weight to provide superior ease of use. Further, the conforming fit of the glove provides for enhanced control of the glove, which provides superior utility and performance for the glove, as well as other advantages. Alternatively, the glove may include a thong which may extend from the glove and may engage an elastic band at one of its ends. Thus, the elastic band may engage both the glove and the thong so that the size of the opening can increase and decrease due to the strap and/or elastic band.

Abstract: A ball glove engineered with exposed edge stitching, as opposed to turned leather, whereby the front (palm) and back are joined with one another in the same orientation as they are die cut. The resulting mating of front and back without welting exposes the edge of the leather (or other material) constituting the ball glove. Without turning the ball glove, other improvements may be seen such as the use of painted edge, exotic material types, and hard embellishments.

Abstract: The present invention provides a lightweight glove for baseball or softball that may include an elastic backfinger to provide a conforming fit to the wearer's hand. In general, the elastic backfinger may replace existing, often leather backfingers, the back panel, the liner, and/or other elements of traditional gloves glove with the elastic material, combination of elastic materials, or combination of elastic and inelastic materials.

Abstract: A short stop baseball mitt includes a cone-shaped body having a palm area provided with a first baseball-receiving section having an elastic and resilient circular indentation located at the anterior surface and spaced from the posterior surface, and configured to provide ball catching control, a thumb-receiving region located at the first lateral side and engaged with the posterior surface, an index finger-receiving region spaced from the thumb-receiving region and located only at the posterior surface thereby being spaced from the anterior surface, and a second baseball-receiving section including an elastic and resilient padded pocket located only at the anterior surface thereby being spaced from the posterior surface. The elastic and resilient padded pocket is intercalated between the thumb-receiving region and the index finger-receiving region while disposed anteriorly of the index finger-receiving region.

The device can include an exterior wall shaped to generally conform to the exterior web of the glove, an interior wall shaped to generally conform to the interior web of the glove, and a void defined between the exterior and interior walls configured to receive and hold the web of the glove in the desired shape. The device can include an opening defined between the interior and exterior walls to allow the glove to be inserted into the void. The device can have an arcuate shape configured to form the glove web into the desired shape. The interior wall can include upper and lower portions configured to form a pocket into the glove. The device can be constructed into a rigid shape in order to protect the glove and prevent deformation.

Abstract: A catching tool for baseball according to the present invention includes an inner stall including an inner finger stall having a distal portion and a proximal portion, and an outer stall including an outer finger stall. The outer finger stall includes a projecting bonding portion projecting inwardly. The inner finger stall includes a lateral piece having a cutout formed from the proximal portion side toward the distal portion, and a back piece bonded to the lateral piece so as to cover the cutout. The inner finger stall has a step formed by the lateral piece and the back piece at a position facing the projecting bonding portion, and the step is engageable with the projecting bonding portion.

Abstract: An athletic striking mitt is disclosed used in training athletes in boxing, martial arts, and other sports. The athletic striking mitt includes a back pad that increases the number of creative striking combinations available to the striker and reduces the repetitive stress common to the wrist, elbow, and shoulder of the trainer. An athletic striking mitt may include a glove assembly having a palm side and a back side, a front pad coupled to the palm side of the glove assembly, and a back pad coupled to the back side of the glove assembly. The glove assembly is sandwiched between the front pad and the back pad.

Abstract: A method and system of a training aid to assist a user to learn to catch including a pair of gloves in which at least a portion of an outer surface of a trainee's glove is attached to at least a portion of an inner surface of a trainer's glove to allow the trainer to guide the trainee's glove into proper positions used during catching. Alternatively, a belt portion is attached around the thumb and pinky of the trainee's glove and trainer's glove to attach the gloves to one another.

Abstract: A ball glove for catching the ball includes a front glove portion, a back glove portion coupled to the front glove portion to define a hand cavity having a thumb stall. The thumb stall has a back side and a palm side. A metacarpal sling extends within the hand cavity. The sling extends from a thumb side of the back glove portion to a pinky side of the back glove portion and continuing along the back side of the thumb stall to the palm side of the thumb stall so as to support the first metacarpal on a person's hand when the person's hand is positioned within the hand cavity.

Abstract: A protective baseball sliding glove is a device for protecting the user's hand when the user is sliding into a base. The user is able to position his or her hand within a hand-enclosing rigid housing that is then placed into a glove that covers the hand-enclosing rigid housing and a portion of the user's forearm. The user is able to grasp a cross-brace within the hand-enclosing rigid housing, anchoring the user's hand within the hand-enclosing rigid housing. The position of the cross-brace may be adjusted via a plurality of adjustment holes on the hand-enclosing rigid housing that allows the user to move the cross-brace to his or her comfort. A securing stabilizer strap may be utilized to secure the glove as well as provide structural support and rigidity to the user's wrist.

Abstract: A ball glove has a hollow zone at a ball impact zone. The hollow zone accommodates a drop-in assembly to provide adequate protection to the wearer of the ball glove without imparting stiffness to the crotch area or the ball impact zone of the ball glove. The ball glove opens/closes easily so as to provide control which players are seeking and creates a game-day-ready pocket based on the individual player's ball catching habits in a short period of time.

Abstract: A protective digit shield for a protective sports glove, the shield having a hard chassis portion and an energy absorbing portion forming a hinge. The chassis portion provides an arcuate channel in which the thumb/digit is received. The chassis is segmented along the longitudinal axis to provide a proximal portion and a distal portion corresponding generally with the proximal and distal phalanx bones of the thumb/digit. A resilient, energy absorbing element along the channel provides separation between the chassis and forms a living hinge such that the chassis can rotate. The energy absorbing element may also include a damping element along opposing edges at the segmented joint to absorb and dissipate forces and prevent hyperextension. In an alternate embodiment, the energy absorbing element is replaced with a connection cable for connecting the portions of the chassis.

The glove has pads of moldable, malleable, substantially cohesive material on the palm and fingers that conforms to the contours of the object and a hand wearing the glove and retains its shape without hardening to provide a firm, solid grip between the hand and the object. The palm section and the finger stalls are fabricated of thin, flexible material, and the pads overlie fleshier parts of the palm and fingers, with gaps between the pads extending along joint lines of the palm and fingers and the elastic material in the gaps providing hinges which flex along the joint lines and allow adjacent ones of the pads to come together to form a substantially continuous gripping surface when the hand and glove are curled about the object.

Abstract: A closed-back athletic glove capable of receiving a human hand is provided. The glove comprises an exterior glove having a wrist back portion corresponding approximately to the area where the back of the user's hand meets the user's wrist. A wrist strap is connected to the interior surface of the exterior glove shell at a first attachment point. The wrist strap runs from the first attachment point along a portion of the interior surface of the wrist back portion to a second attachment point. An adjustment pad is connected to the wrist strap such that when the glove is worn by the user, the adjustment pad is between the wrist strap and the user's hand and such that when the wrist strap is tightened, the wrist strap exerts a force on the adjustment pad that tightens the adjustment pad against the user's hand.

Abstract: An athletic glove capable of receiving a human hand is provided. The glove comprises an exterior glove shell having a palm side portion and a back portion and an interior glove liner connected together to form index, middle, ring, and pinky finger sheaths and a thumb sheath. A glove webbing is connected to and extends between the thumb sheath and the index finger sheath. A middle layer is located between the exterior shell and the interior liner. One or more low-elasticity strengthening inserts are affixed to the palm-side portion of the exterior glove shell. The inserts maintain the integrity of the exterior glove shell after repeated use of the glove by limiting the amount the exterior glove shell stretches.

Abstract: Increased popularity of youth softball and baseball leagues have resulted in nearly 2 million injuries annually. Most sports related injuries occur during practice due to a lack of safety precautions, but are preventable. Protective equipment is available for baseball/softball sports, but there is a lack of protection for the knuckles, wrist, and elbow. These areas are vulnerable to a direct impact of the ball and can result in serious injury. The KWE Protector may prevent and decrease injury to the key areas of the hand and arm (knuckle, wrist, and elbow) for continual use and productivity in the baseball/softball sport. It is padded by the thickness and characteristic shock-absorbing quality of Plastisol, gum rubber, silicone rubber material, soft plastic material, any of a variety of materials or combinations of materials having a hardness value in a range of 10 to 90 on a Shore 00 hardness scale, or any rubber-like material or other material from which it is molded as one piece. The glove is highly malleable and resilient, with living hinges that assist in the ease of opening and closing the glove. The exterior surface of the glove is a high friction surface to assist the ball staying on the glove until the fingers and thumb can be wrapped around it. The glove is brightly colored and toy-like in shape.

The central upper portion is spaced apart and disposed between the left and right upper portions. The outer surface of the left and right upper portions are removably engaged with the inner surface of the central upper portion to form the curved shape of the novelty mitt. The novelty mitt further comprises first, second, third, fourth and fifth finger pockets removably engaged with the outer surface of the flexible base to accommodate different size hands. The novelty mitt further comprises a wrist strap removably engaged with the lower portion of the flexible base to secure the novelty mitt to the person's hand.

Abstract: A glove with a protective insert is disclosed. The protective insert can be a hard piece of plastic and can be disposed within the rear ply of a baseball or softball glove. The protective insert can prevent injury to a user's hand when the user attempts to tag out a base runner on the opposing team. The protective insert can also prevent a user's finger from bending backwards when that user catches a hard-thrown ball outside the center section of the glove. A glove can have one or more protective inserts. The glove can have only one protective insert to protect a user's thumb, or can have multiple inserts to protect the thumb and one or more fingers.

A baseball glove method comprising an air, EVA balls, gas or gel bladder disposed insert prior for a sole assembly of a shoe. A further object of the present invention is to provide a consistent flex pattern by the appropriate pre-curved system design while improving traditional glove design details and materials.

The system includes an apparatus and glove that can be used independently or together. The apparatus is adapted for mounting to a basketball rim and includes flexible paddles for mounting to the rim so that the paddles project upwardly from the rim. The glove is adapted to be worn on the shooting hand and includes fingers, wrist and backhand portions. The fingers portion has three separate sleeves interconnected by elastic webs therebetween. The backhand portion interconnects the fingers portion to the wrist portion. The glove is configured so that the three middle fingers of the shooting hand are individually inserted into the sleeves and elastically held together by the webs, while allowing the thumb and outer finger of the shooting hand to spread outward and support the basketball during shooting.

A coupling member 50 is provided so that the second planar shaped member 46 can be coupled to cover the transparent member 34 and conceal the recorded indicia 44 when desired.

The outer layer and the at least one inner layer are attached to the outer portion of the glove along at least a portion of their corresponding peripheral edges so as to thereby define an opening between the pouch and the glove such that the opening is oriented and sized to receive a second hand of the player while the glove is worn on the first hand of the player.

Abstract: A baseball glove 10 is provided with an indicia apparatus 12 which allows the user to view recorded data when desired. The baseball glove 10 includes a transparent member 34 which is coupled to and spaced from the back wall 14 of the glove so that an accessible open area 36 is formed between the wall and transparent member. A first planar shaped member 42 is provided having predetermined recorded indicia 44 thereon which is slidably held under the transparent member 34 so that the indicia thereon is visible. A second planer shaped member 46 is coupled to the glove above and adjacent the transparent member 34 so that it can be pivoted to conceal or reveal the recorded indicia on the transparent member as desired. A coupling member 50 is provided so that the second planar shaped member 46 can be coupled to cover the transparent member 34 and conceal the recorded indicia 44 when desired.
