[edit]I would like to write an article on the NBIA variant BPAN (Beta-propeller Protein-associated Neurodegeneration). I am the father of a child that has this disorder. I would like provide an article that summarises the main properties of that disease, also to help raise awareness for it. Besides that, I have no other connection to it. Diagnosis
[edit]As a zebra with MPAN (more a unicorn/pegasus) I think it needs to be mentioned that genetic testing is pretty much considered a gold standard for diagnosis. Which is a PITA if you have idiopathic. Also just because there are dark spots on MRI's doesn't mean it's conclusively NBIA since there are multiple other diseases that share similar patterns. It also comes down to neurological testing to see if the symptoms match as well. A lot comes into play. 120.22.231.217 (talk) 13:44, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
